Title: What's the difference between Perfume Oils and Perfume?
What's the difference between Perfume Oils and Perfume? Please do not confuse these perfume oils with cologne or essential oils. Pure perfume oils are far more sophisticated than perfume with fillers. Never offensive or overpowering, long lasting and balanced.
Table of Concentrates for Perfume Industry
Name %Perfume Oil %Alcohol & Water Perfume or Parfum 15% - 30% 85% - 70% Eau de Parfum 8% - 30% 92% - 70% Eau De Toilette 4% - 8% 96% - 92% Eau de Cologne 2% - 5% 98% - 95% Splash Cologne 1% - 3% 99% - 97%
Pure Perfume Is Better For You
Just like jewelry, pure perfume oils vary tremendously in quality. We have put an incredible amount of time and effort into selecting the best possible quality pure perfume oils. Pure perfume oils are truly what the designer of the fragrance had in mind when it was created.
Alcohol and Perfume No Alcohol
All commercially available "perfumes" are actually perfume oils with fillers. The fillers are usually alcohol and sometimes water.
Why do they add alcohol? The primary purpose of alcohol is to cause the perfume oils to evaporate faster than they would by themselves, sometimes as much as or 15 times more quickly. This gives the impression that the perfume is considerably stronger than it actually is. That is why, when you first put on a commercial fragrance, the aroma may sometimes seem overwhelming to those around you. This also explains why the scent fades dramatically within one or two hours. The perfume oils have evaporated along with the alcohol. The second reason for all those fillers is just clever marketing -- a bigger and fancier bottle containing fragrance plus fillers seems like a much better value than a smaller one of pure oil.
Common Problems with Alcohol Perfume
• Alcohol tends to kill off or mask some of the subtle notes in many fragrances. • Ethyl alcohol is the most popular alcohol added It is extremely caustic. Many people who think they are allergic to perfume are actually allergic to the alcohol added to the perfume. • Alcohol is a drying agent - it makes things evaporate including the fragrance and your natural body oils.
Staying power of your Perfume Oil
Our perfume oils last on most people up to 6 to 24 hours - depending on your body chemistry. Unlike perfumes with fillers added - which have a normal shelf life of 6 to 18 months, pure perfume oils keep their fragrance year after year.
How perfume oils are different from perfumes
Most people who try perfume oils prefer them to perfumes, although some do not. Some reasons people prefer perfume oils are: 1. Low cost - Many places that sell perfume oils sell them for much cheaper than store perfumes 2. Long lasting - Since oils are not diluted with alcohol solution, they tend to last longer on the skin. Also, a 1oz bottle of oil will typically last as long as a 4oz bottle of perfume. 3. Small size - The smaller size makes them portable and easier to travel with. 4. Designer type oils - A high quality designer type perfume oil is extremely difficult to distinguish from the actual designer perfume.
Trade Secrets There exists a certain "mystique" around the fragrance industry. The courts have held that - Fragrance is something that belongs to nature and not to any individual. As a result of this a fragrance cannot be patented or copyrighted. On the other hand a brand name can be copyrighted and registered and others may not profit from its use. For this reason we want to be very clear that we do not represent any particular perfume house or their products. Our oils are Inspired by these remarkable designers.

Title: CHOOSING FRAGRANCES
Everyone has a personal "scent circle": approximately an arm's length from the body. No one should be aware of your fragrance unless he or she steps inside your "circle." Fragrance should be one of the most subtle, personal messages you send to those with whom you come in contact.
For a long-lasting effect, fragrance should be layered all over the body, starting Scente Body Lotion, to build the fragrance foundation. Because fragrance rises, smooth fragrance onto skin from the feet to the shoulders. If fragrance is applied only behind the ears, it will eventually rise and disappear.
As a final highlight, perfume oil, the most concentrated and long-lasting form of fragrance, should be applied at the pulse points where the heartbeat is apparent (wrists, behind ears, crook of elbow, base of throat, bosom, behind knees, inside the ankles).
The wearer's diet can affect the way a fragrance smells and lasts on the skin. If the wearer is on a high fat, spicy diet, for example, fragrances will be more intense. A dramatic change in diet can alter skin chemistry, causing fragrances to smell differently.
Skin type will also affect the way a fragrance smells on a person. Fragrance wearers with oilier skin should remember that fragrances interact with the oils in their skin to create a more intense scent. Dry skin does not retain fragrance as long as oily skin, requiring the wearer to reapply the fragrance more often.
Always remember to:
...Keep your fragrances safe from extreme cold or heat. Once a bottle of perfume is opened it should be used
Perfume, to last, should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Otherwise it will begin to fade or change its character with time. Long exposure to strong sunlight or extremes in temperature can disturb the delicate balance of the perfume and change its scent.
Just as books must be read and records played, fragrances must be worn to be enjoyed!
...Make it a rule never to try more than three scents at one time when you are shopping for a new fragrance. Your nose will lose its ability to tell the difference. Apply fragrance directly to the skin when you are testing new scents. You cannot get a true reaction to the fragrance from the bottle. Apply a few drops to your wrist. Allow the heat of the body to develop the fragrance on your skin and then sniff. If you would like to test one or two additional scents, apply one to the other wrist... wait... and then apply the third to the inside bend of the elbow. If you want to delay your decision while you shop, be sure to write down which fragrance you put where, so you'll be able to refer back to it later on.
...Use fragrance throughout every day. It will increase your feelings of well being. Different scents are believed to have their own unique affect on mood and feeling.
...Introduce the enjoyment of fragrance to every young person you know. It is never too soon for them to experience the fun and benefits of fragrance.
